G-TTIF to become 4R-MRC with Mihin Lanka

Former easyJet Airbus A321-231 registered G-TTIF (msn 3106) is to acquired shortly by Mihin Lanka. The airline was established in 2007 by the Sri Lankan government as a low cost airline. Using a single Airbus A320 (4R-MRB) the carrier operates routes from Colombo to Kuwait, Dubai and India (Gaya, Varanasi and Tiruchirapalli). From the end of this month Mihin Lanka is due to commence operations to additional destinations in Dhaka, Jakarta and Malé in the Maldives.

G-TTIF is a relatively new frame having been built for GB Airways in 2007. The aircraft was assimilated into the easyJet fleet when the latter acquired GB Airways in 2008. At the end of the current lease G-TTIF was ferried to Shanon on September  22 last and subsequently entered the Eirtech Aviation hangar where it was painted in the Mihin Lanka livery. The aircraft emerged yesterday in its new colours with the UK registration taped on. With Mihin Lanka due to commence operations to new destinations from next weekend it is to be expected that the aircraft will be delivered in the next few days.
